The C-X17 Concept had to be stylish, sporty and exciting. It had to stand out from the crowd, while retaining the sense of timeless sophistication that is typically Jaguar.
Jaguar Design Director, Ian Callum, says, ‘We designed the C-X17 from the ground up from a distinct set of principles, a deep sense of what makes a Jaguar car: exciting proportions, clean lines, balance of form. Assertive and powerful, yet with a beautiful sensuality about it, the C-X17 is boldly, distinctively Jaguar.’
The C-X17 Concept’s cabin brings together innovative interactive technology with a modern take on traditional high-quality materials and British craftsmanship for true luxury and sophistication. The inviting design and overall usability of the interior, along with its versatility – including its extensive cargo space – means that it is as good for the family as it is exciting for the driver.
The assured driving position is designed to give a feeling of security and being cocooned within the luxury of the cabin. There are premium materials used throughout including milled aluminum and black brushed anodized metal finishes for a dark, sophisticated effect. The attention to detail even includes the rotary gearshift which controls the vehicle’s driving modes. It is finished in striking ruthenium, a type of platinum, and dramatically rises as soon as the C-X17 Concept is activated.
The innovative Interactive Surface Control is a multi-screen infotainment hub with a series of interconnecting Touch-screens that connect the passengers with the vehicle5. Individuals can upload pictures, video and sound files from their mobile devices and share them with fellow passengers, as well as connecting with friends on other social media channels.
A 12-speaker sound system, designed exclusively for the C-X17 Concept by British audio experts Meridian™, features Trifield™ technology to give every occupant an optimum, premium in-car audio experience.
The original Caesium Blue vehicle that was revealed in Frankfurt has four stylish individual seats, while the latest C-X17 Concept in Liquid Gold features the versatility of a five seat arrangement highlighting the versatility of the car and its suitability for families. Both versions of the C-X17 Concept provide the right balance between comfort, and versatility.
The spacious cargo area also offers the flexibility of two occasional leisure seats that swing up and out of the floor for use when the car is parked and the rear tailgate is open.
Adding to a feeling of lightness and airiness within the cabin, the C-X17 Concept’s unique roof features contoured vanes to provide a distinctive ‘elliptical’ panoramic view and a more open outlook as you watch the world pass by.
