As this year’s title vehicle sponsor, Land Rover has donated a 2018 Range Rover Velar First Edition to be auctioned off that evening, with all proceeds benefitting the East Side House Settlement; a community-based organization in the South Bronx that works with schools, community centers and other partners to bring quality education and resources to residents of the Bronx and Northern Manhattan.

2018 JAGUAR F-TYPE

This year’s New York International Auto Show brings with it the global debut of a new 4- cylinder powered 2018 Jaguar F-TYPE as part of the model’s mid-cycle refresh. Already recognized as the brand’s most performance-focused vehicle, the updated F-TYPE features host of powertrain, exterior, interior and technology enhancements for the 2018 model year.

The 2018 F-TYPE features distinctive looks both inside and out, and is immediately distinguished by new full-LED headlights, a revised front fascia, as well as new paint and wheel options. Inside, driver and passenger alike benefit from extra legroom afforded by new slimline seats; contributing to an incremental weight savings over the previous standard seats, as well as improving ergonomics and comfort with the added option of a cooling function. The interior is also enhanced with a new noble chrome interior, the addition of an optional Sienna Tan interior and new finishers on the center console.

The 2018 model year brings with it a limited edition F-TYPE called the 400 SPORT which will be available for one year only. Featuring an uprated 3.0-liter supercharged gas V6 tuned to produce 400hp, the 400 SPORT is further distinguished by distinctive Yellow and Dark Satin Grey 400 SPORT badges on the front and rear of the car. Available in three separate colors – Indus Silver, Santorini Black and Yulong White metallic paint – there are also unique interior design elements which include 400 SPORT branding in the center console, steering wheel, treadplates and embroidered headrests. Yellow contrast stitching features throughout the cabin.

Additional updates to the 2018 F-TYPE now include standard Jaguar InControl® Touch Pro™ infotainment which, thanks to its fast processor and automotive Ethernet connections, supports a number additional apps and driver assistance technologies2. Debuting on the refreshed 2018 F-TYPE, Jaguar and Land Rover also now offer GoPro® connectivity on all 2018 model year vehicles equipped with the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system2. Called ReRun, the new app is designed to be used off-highway, sourcing telemetry data from the car; measuring speed, lateral acceleration, gear selection, throttle and brake position, and overlaying this information into an easy to digest dashboard on video filmed with the GoPro camera paired and mounted to the car3. The high quality video – including a unique ‘highlights’ section – can be downloaded to the driver’s smartphone, creating a shareable record or the driver’s successes on track.

Following the North American debut of the 2018 model year F-TYPE at this year’s New York International Auto show, Jaguar will also introduce further updates for the 2018 model year which, for the first-time ever, include the addition of a high-output 2.0 liter turbocharged Ingenium 4-cylinder gas engine that will be the new entry point for the F-TYPE model range.

Producing 296hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque, the highly responsive 4-cylinder F-TYPE Coupe is exclusively mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission powering the rear wheels. The 2018 F-TYPE 4-cylinder will start at $59,9001 when it goes on sale later this year.

The expanded F-TYPE model range will now appeal to an even broader range of potential new buyers with 24 different variants offer, with starting prices between $59,900 and $125,0001, selectively powered by 4-, 6- and 8-cylinder engines ranging from the 296hp 4-cylinder to the 575hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 found in the 200mph F-TYPE SVR4.
