ELECTRIC OR GAS?

Our latest range of Ingenium gas engines are the cleanest and most efficient we've ever produced. Our new electric powertrain is the future of driving. Which one is right for you?

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

  • Velocity Blue F-TYPE driving on road.

    GAS

Offering a dynamic and agile drive, our new breed of gas engines honor the iconic Jaguar legacy of on-road responsiveness while delivering impressively low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

  • Grey Jaguar I-PACE drives on-road, beside sand, with a CGI of electric motor and battery.

    ELECTRIC (EV)

Our sophisticated all-electric powertrains provide high performance with zero tailpipe emissions. Powered by a pair of electric motors with a battery that is recharged using regenerative braking and a plug-in charge point, EV is the electrifying future of Jaguar.

THE KEY BENEFITS OF GAS AND ELECTRIC

  • Jaguar F-PACE.

    A DYNAMIC DRIVING EXPERIENCE

With smooth and responsive power delivery, Jaguar gas engines offer our most spirited driving experiences. They’re an exhilarating combination of effortless performance and stirring sounds at all speeds.

  • Jaguar E-PACE.

    SAVING MONEY UPFRONT

Although electric engines offer greater fuel efficiency, the upfront cost savings of gas engines may be the better choice depending on your driving needs.

    GOVERNMENT INCENTIVES

Electric vehicles qualify for benefits provided by governments, local authorities and businesses supporting the move to the world’s cleanest powertrains. This can include tax credits that help to lower the cost of entry into an electric vehicle.

  • Jaguar I-PACE charging at home.

    ECONOMICAL RUNNING COSTS

The relatively low cost of electricity means recharging pure electric cars is less expensive than refueling with gas or diesel. And with fewer moving powertrain parts to preserve, they’re also less expensive to maintain.

  • Jaguar Ingenium engine.

INGENIUM: OUR MOST EFFICIENT ENGINES EVER

Ingenium is the Jaguar Land Rover family of engines designed for effortless performance, refinement and efficiency. With advanced technology and all-aluminum construction, Ingenium balances impressive power with strong fuel economy.

  • ALL-ELECTRIC VEHICLES EXPLAINED

Jaguar all-electric technology delivers sports-car performance with zero tailpipe emissions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

SELECT MODEL

<del> -

  • A vehicle powertrain is every component that turns an energy source (fuel/battery) into movement via engine / electric motor, transmission, drive shafts, differentials and axles.

The most common vehicle powertrain systems are gas, diesel, battery electric vehicle (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV).
  • Jaguar I-PACE is equipped with a 7 kW single phase AC on-board charger, which can fully recharge the vehicle in 12.6 hours. The fastest and most convenient way to charge at home is using a wallbox, which can restore the energy used from the average daily commute in under 2 hours.

When using a domestic socket, charging rates are slower than a wallbox, but are sufficient to cover the average daily commute of 30 miles if the vehicle is charged overnight.

When away from home, the best way to get a quick top up of your battery’s charge for those long journeys is with a public DC charger – a typical 50 kW charger can achieve a 0-80% charge in 85 minutes. Some networks already offer faster 100-150 kW chargers, and most networks are planning upgrades in the near future.
  • Thanks to a high-tech lithium-ion battery, which has a capacity of 90 kWh, the Jaguar I‑PACE has an estimated range of up to 234 miles when fully charged. It can also achieve 80 city, 72 highway and 76 combined MPGe. MPGe is the EPA-equivalent measure of gasoline fuel efficiency for electric mode operation.10
